Hard to choose between politic and lack of time. Suppose you can always get away from politics. Time is forever.

With the pace of technology these days, it is hard to become an expert at anything. If you take the time necessary to master a particular technology, you usually fall behind on ten others, or by the time you are done they have already released a new version.

Hard to pick just one...it seems frustration is creeping into several of these areas. Time will always be lacking, politics will likely always be present but I am finding it very difficult to find good, skilled people to work with us. So that's where my vote falls right now.

Pace of Technology!!!!!! hands down. Where is the public out cry about Microsoft killing Winforms in favor of WPF. As for myself they just screwed my out of my vb6 code and now all my .net stuff. Microsoft give us a break..... please.....

For me, it's a three-way tie - Pace of technology, time, and politics all combine into a crushing workload with constant changes that prolong development. While build speed for simple sites has decreased, complex sites and code takes longer as I fumble for the new code. It's almost impossible to keep pace.

Pace of tech is directly linked to lack of time... Wish I had the time to keep up with all the stuff that appears every month.

of course Pace of Technology! Jezz, I just finished porting to C# 2, and now C# 3.0 is there, SQL 2008, Windows Server 2008...how can I learn something and be expert in it if I don't have the time, and the tools always change! Funny, I found some job ad for Software Developer required 3 years experience with C# 2008!!!!!
