New features include automatic detection and configuration for Microsoft technologies such as Language Integrated Query (LINQ), Silverlight, Visual J#, Windows CardSpace, Windows Communication Foundation, Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Workflow, and Web Services. Automatic detection and configuration for specific development techniques include custom serialization, data-bound Windows Forms controls, enumerated type values used as strings, and late calls in Visual Basic applications.

Also included in this release of Dotfuscator is the availability of "automatic real-time application tamper defense." Dotfuscator can now inject logic to detect and defend against application tampering. This approach includes real-time defense logic that requires no access to source or recompilation. The automatic real-time defense augments the existing tamper defense functionality, which includes real-time custom defenses, automatic alerts, and incident management services. You can pair these controls seamlessly with obfuscation and other preventative controls without adding any complexity or extra development stages.

NetAdvantage for WPF 2008 Volume 1
Infragistics Inc. has announced the release of NetAdvantage for WPF 2008 Volume 1, a comprehensive user interface (UI) component toolset available for Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). NetAdvantage for WPF 2008 allows developers to build modern application UIs that take advantage of WPF.

NetAdvantage for WPF 2008 adds enhanced xamDataGrid functionality and a new xamDockManager control. The new row aggregation feature in xamDataGrid allows end users to add summary fields to their data grid including many mathematical calculations such as min, max, and average. Developers also have the ability to plug in their own custom calculations for these new xamDataGrid summary fields. The new xamDockManager provides end users the flexibility to reconfigure their user interface making the most effective use of screen real estate.

Other features include support for lazy loading, adding, updating, deleting, sorting, grouping, calculating, resizing, and scrolling data from either flat or hierarchical data sources; carousel motion with special effects (including scaling, skewing, and opacity effects) along a discrete path or continuous circuit; and rich data entry that includes mask, date/time, numeric, currency, combo box, and text editors.
