  • Dan Siegel: Dan is a Microsoft/Xamarin MVP, an avid OSS Contributor, and Author best known as for his work as a maintainer of the immensely popular Prism Library. He is a Consultant specializing in Cloud, Mobile, and DevOps with perhaps one of the most unique backgrounds of any programmer you’ll ever meet. In those arguably rare moments he’s not busy slinging code you may find him out Scuba Diving, Off-Roading or through hiking in the remote wilderness.

Working with Xamarin.Forms

With the open-source, cross-platform Xamarin.Forms framework you can create native iOS, Android and UWP applications with 98%+ code-reuse, written either in Visual Studio or Visual Studio Mac (or your favorite editor). In this session we will introduce the newest template for Xamarin.Forms which makes getting up and running with a professional looking app as easy as pushing a button. From there we will examine the generated code, and then go on to create an original app. Our focus will be on building professional apps using industry best-practices including the Model-View-ViewModel paradigm.

  • Jesse LIberty: Jesse Liberty is a Certified Xamarin Developer, a Xamarin MVP and a Microsoft MVP. He is a senior programmer working for Cognizant, specializing in Xamarin.Forms. Liberty hosts the popular Yet Another Podcast and he is the author of more than a dozen best-selling programming books. and one novel. He is also the author of numerous online courses on everything from Azure to Xamarin for Pluralsight, LinkedIn Learning, Udemy and Packt. Jesse was a Technical Evangelist for Microsoft, Distinguished Software Engineer at AT&T; Software Architect for PBS and Vice President of Information Technology at Citibank, and he was on the teaching staff at Brandeis University.
