Visual Studio Subscribers Now Get 'Visual Studio Live!' and Other Learning Discounts

Microsoft today announced new learning benefits to subscribers of its flagship Visual Studio IDE, including discounts for Visual Studio Live! developer conferences and other educational opportunities.

The new learning benefits are available for subscribers of the Professional or Enterprise editions of the IDE.

Microsoft has been strengthening its ties with the Visual Studio Live! series of developer conferences, offering event-specific discounts and actually hosting a conference next month at company headquarters in Redmond, with two Microsoft execs slated to deliver keynotes. The producer of the conference series is the parent company of Visual Studio Magazine.

Along with discounts for Visual Studio Live! events, the new benefits include access to premium courses from Dometrain Pro and training from Tim Corey via DevPass Business Edition.

"These three new exclusive benefits are crafted to enhance your skills and ensure you're well-equipped to leverage the latest advancements in Visual Studio, .NET, and Azure, helping your business maintain a competitive edge," said Microsoft's Jim Harrer in a July 18 blog post. "Utilize these exclusive benefits to achieve annual savings exceeding $1,500, supporting your desire to stay informed of the latest advancements in technology and development practices."
