dtSearch Enhances ASP.NET Core Functionality

Enterprise search specialist dtSearch enhanced ASP.NET Core functionality in the latest update to its flagship product.

The text retrieval specialist touts the ability of its wares to instantly search terabytes of data either in the cloud or on-premises over a variety of types, including ASP.NET web-dev projects, along with providing cross-platform APIs covering C++, Java and .NET. Its offerings also include proprietary document filters that cover popular 'Office' formats, web site data, databases, compression formats and emails with attachments.

The company also provides dtSearch Engine SDKs for Windows, Linux and macOS, and this is where the ASP.NET Core functionality boost comes into play in the new version 2023.02 of the firm's enterprise and developer product line.

"For dtSearch Engine developers, the release further adds sample code demonstrating use of the dtSearch Engine SDK in an ASP.NET Core application running in a Windows (NanoServer) or Linux Docker container," the company said in a Nov. 9 news release.

Other highlights of the release as presented by dtSearch include:

  • The release adds new image/sound/video metadata support across 11 different file formats, with the updates covering both dtSearch's enterprise products and the dtSearch Engine developer SDK.
  • The release also includes additional dtSearch Engine SDK sample code for NuGet package deployment with a range of dependencies.
  • A new beta adds a 64-bit Windows ARM dtSearch Engine build to the dtSearch Engine's current 64-bit support covering Windows and Linux Intel 64-bit and macOS including Apple Silicon ARM and Intel-based macOS.
