New 'Visual Studio Hub' 1-Stop-Shop for GitHub Copilot Resources, More

GitHub Copilot resources are front-and-center in Microsoft's new Visual Studio Hub, a one-stop-shop for all things concerning your favorite IDE.

Announced last week, the Visual Studio Hub is a centralized site designed to streamline access to resources, updates, and features within the Visual Studio ecosystem. It aims to simplify the process of staying informed by consolidating information that was previously scattered across blog posts, release notes, and social media updates.

It offers information including:

  • Newest Features: Information on the latest features and enhancements in Visual Studio.
  • GitHub Copilot Resources: Resources related to GitHub Copilot, an AI pair programmer.
  • Upcoming Events: Details about upcoming events relevant to Visual Studio users.
  • Expert Insights: Insights from the Visual Studio product teams.
  • Microsoft Learn: Links to Microsoft Learn sites for documentation and learning materials.
  • Community Site: A link to a community site where developers can connect and network.
  • Feedback Site: A platform for users to share their ideas and suggestions for improving Visual Studio.
  • Blog Section: Updates on the latest trends, product developments, and best practices.
  • Social Media: Links to the official Visual Studio social media accounts for community engagement.

For content examples, the GitHub Copilot Resources section includes videos on topics ranging from prompting to what could be described as "vibe coding," along with posts about expert tips and recent updates.

An FAQ indicates release notes will still be at Visual Studio 2022 release notes and also points to the Visual Studio YouTube channel, social media channels and Visual Studio Developer Community site.

"The Visual Studio Hub is here to stay as your go-to resource for everything related to Visual Studio," Microsoft product manager Jacqueline Widdis said last week. "Still, this is just the beginning! We plan to bring even more relevant content as you continue to share what matters most to you."
