Top Visual Studio Products Honored

VSM presented its annual Readers Choice Awards to the Visual Studio vendor community.

Visual Studio Magazine presented its 14th annual Readers Choice Awards Wednesday night during Microsoft's Tech•Ed conference. These awards, chosen by Visual Studio Magazine's readers, honor outstanding software in 22 development categories. Plus, an Editors Choice award was presented to a new product deserving special attention.

Readers Choice Awards were given to products that received the most reader votes, while Readers Choice Merit Awards recognize products receiving a high number of votes that also offer exceptional value to Visual Studio Magazine readers. The Editors Choice Award honors a product that shows special distinction or innovation but doesn't fit comfortably into the standard categories.

"The sheer number of companies offering tools and services for Visual Studio .NET developers—more than 300 vendors and 500 products in this year's survey alone—is staggering, and an indication of the health and importance of the third-party market," says Patrick Meader, editor in chief of Visual Studio Magazine. Here's a complete list of the Visual Studio Magazine 2006 Readers Choice Awards winners.

The free plan restricts the number of completions, chat requests and access to AI models, being suitable for occasional users and small projects.

  • Diving Deep into .NET MAUI

Ever since someone figured out that fiddling bits results in source code, developers have sought one codebase for all types of apps on all platforms, with Microsoft's latest attempt to further that effort being .NET MAUI.

Dr. James McCaffrey from Microsoft Research presents a complete end-to-end demonstration of the AdaBoost.R2 algorithm for regression problems (where the goal is to predict a single numeric value). • Versioning and Documenting ASP.NET Core Services

Building an API with ASP.NET Core is only half the job. If your API is going to live more than one release cycle, you're going to need to version it. If you have other people building clients for it, you're going to need to document it.
