Microsoft Releases Vista Updates to Public

Microsoft on Tuesday officially released several updates for Windows Vista -- fixes that were initially released to the public last week, before being pulled down.

Microsoft on Tuesday officially released several updates for Windows Vista -- fixes that were initially released to the public last week, before being pulled down. As reported last week, the updates are available for both 32-bit versions and 64-bit versions of Vista. One update, according to Microsoft, "improves the performance and reliability of Windows Vista," while the other update "improves the compatibility of reliability" of Vista.

The fixes are expected to be a part of what will ultimately be Vista SP1, an upgrade Microsoft has been strangely reluctant to discuss with the public or the media.

The updates are currently available at a Windows download site, and a Microsoft statement said they will be available through Windows Update "at a later date."
