ComponentOne LLC is shipping a new version of its help-authoring software ComponentOne Doc-To-Help 2008. ComponentOne Doc-To-Help 2008 features Ribbon toolbars, option-dialog boxes, and Microsoft Outlook-style panes. The new Topics Grid provides a customizable view of all topics used for setting properties and adding elements such as context IDs and keywords. The related Topics Editor allows help authors to view, edit, and create related topic links with drag-and-drop operations. The new version also includes a new Style Sheet Editor that configures style sheets in a point-and-click interface.

ComponentOne Doc-To-Help 2008 is also compatible with ComponentOne DemoWorks, an application that allows you to record anything on your screen, and then produce a shareable demo in minutes. ComponentOne Doc-To-Help 2008 also gives you the ability to insert Flash movies created with ComponentOne DemoWorks in Word documents for online output, but to exclude the movie automatically when you generate print versions. ComponentOne Doc-To-Help 2008 and ComponentOne DemoWorks are offered individually, but can be purchased as a bundle.

ILOG Diagrammer for .NET 1.5 and ILOG Gantt for .NET 3.5
ILOG Inc. has announced that ILOG Diagrammer for .NET 1.5 and ILOG Gantt for .NET 3.5 both now support Windows Present­ation Foundation (WPF) and ASP.NET AJAX. Developers can access the dedicated designers, toolboxes, wizards, and online documentation in the new products without having to learn another tool or language.

ILOG Diagrammer for .NET 1.5 helps developers configure and integrate diagram and dashboard displays inside Windows Forms (desktop) and Web Forms applications. This new release includes WPF elements that ease the creation of graphical representations, such as entity-relation diagrams, network topologies, or business processes. Users can now create graphics using both the template features of WPF and ILOG Diagrammer’s Graph Layout library. ILOG Diagrammer for .NET 1.5 will enable developers to leverage WPF using Microsoft Visual Studio, Expression Design, Expression Blend, XAML, videos, animations, and other WPF tools.

ILOG Gantt for .NET 3.5, with support for ASP.NET AJAX technology, helps developers create rich Internet applications for planning and scheduling.

PDF Xpress v2 Software Development Kit
Pegasus Imaging Corp. has released the PDF Xpress v2 Software Development Kit (SDK). The new PDF Xpress offers expanded capabilities to access and modify content within PDF documents.

PDF Xpress gives developers the ability to create, modify, and view PDF files. Software engineers can extract text from PDF files and use PDF Xpress v2 features to return the location and context of text search results. Annotations, bookmarks, thumbnails, and metadata can also be added, modified, or deleted. New page insert and move options allow developers to merge multiple PDFs or to split a single PDF into multiple documents. PDF Xpress v2 also offers new read-from- and write-to-memory support. The PDF Xpress SDK is delivered as both a .NET component and an ActiveX COM control.
