CodeFluent Entities Modeler Edition

French code generation tools provider SoftFluent today announced a visual tool to help .NET development shops more effectively build applications with its CodeFluent Entities software factory product. The solution enables dev shops to build out application components using a model-driven approach.

Available as an integrated Visual Studio 2008 or 2010 add-on, CodeFluent Entities Modeler Edition lets developers create visual application models inside the Visual Studio environment, and take advantage of built-in Visual Studio functionality like source code control. Developers are able to build out entities, properties and methods, using a drag-and-drop interface to establish relationships and rules.

The visual designer provides namespace and solar views of the model. The solar view provides an overview that lets developers see the relationship of entities to each other. A reporting modules affords insight into the model, including a count of the number of entities, namespaces and relationships in the project.

SoftFluent also sells a standalone version of CodeFluent Entities Modeler Edition, a Windows Forms-based application that uses the exact same modeling engine as the Visual Studio-based version of the product. Both versions produce XML-based output that can be viewed and edited in SoftFluent's CodeFluent Entities product.

The beta of CodeEntities Modeler Edition is available for download at the SoftFluent Web site. SoftFluent co-founder Daniel Cohen-Zardi said he expects the shipping version of the visual modeler to emerge in the fall.

Also at the show, SoftFluent announced that it had joined the Microsoft Visual Studio Industry Partner (VSIP) program.
