NoSQL for .NET: RavenDB 3.0 Takes Flight
Among a bevy of new features in this upgrade to the alternative open source NoSQL database engine for .NET is a new storage engine and file system.
Israel-based Hibernating Rhinos has put the finishing touches to its RavenDB 3.0.3528 open source NoSQL database engine for .NET and made it available to the general public. The new version was announced by developer Oren Eini, who blogs about it through his online blogging persona Ayende@Rahein.
A laundry list of new and updated features are listed here. Highlights include support for the Windows Extensible storage engine or Hibernating Rhino's newly created Voron storage engine.
The company also includes RavenFS, an internally created file system that support full and incremental backups, replication and high availability.
