Microsoft Press Developer Book Sale Until End of March

Save 35 percent on developer titles when purchasing books or downloading e-books directly from the Microsoft Press Store. Sale ends March 31.

The Microsoft Press Store is discounting a slew of developer-related books. The breadth of developer titles spans mainly expert-level, which means "experienced professional developers," spanning technologies as varied as C/C++ to XAML to Dynamics to Windows programming to Node.js. Currently listed are 115 titles, which can be viewed here, and many are available as e-books, which means they can be downloaded immediately.

Many of the books apply to fairly new technologies. "Microsoft Visual C# Step by Step, 8th Edition," by John Sharp, was published in Oct. 2015, so it covers the initial release of Visual Studio 2015. "Node.jS for .NET Developers," by David Gaynes, was published almost a year ago, so it's not quite as updated. A search of SQL Server titles shows that the most recent books cover versions 2012 and 2008; there didn't seem to be any for versions 2015 or 2016.

On a side note, one book that isn't available from the store (since it's from Packt Publishing) is "Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2015 Cookbook," by Tarun Arora. Microsoft's Brian Harry posted a short blog about the book about a month ago, when it shipped; it covers TFS up to TFS 2015 Update 2. Harry notes that Arora is a Microsoft MVP on Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server, and currently a developer with Avanade.
