Link Roundup: Visual Studio Code Tips on GitHub, CodePlex Shuttering, Developer Podcasts

The Visual Studio Code page on GitHub hosts a slew of tips, and CodePlex will be shutting down later this year. Bonus: Inaugural .NET Insight Podcast!

Now that most of Microsoft's open source projects reside at GitHub, let it be known that Visual Studio developers who have yet to discover this GitHub project should head over here for some of the more useful -- some common knowledge, others obscure but sure to be put to good use some day -- tips for squeezing productivity out of using VS Code.

Speaking of GitHub, did you know that Microsoft considers the source code repository to be the company's de facto one to house your developer projects? It's true. Microsoft recommends that developers who use CodePlex should seriously consider migrating projects to GitHub, as CodePlex will be shut down at the end of this year. You can read more here.

Also, this week we launch the inaugural .NET Insight Podcast. Most episodes will feature news and information from the Visual Studio Magazine and ADTmag.com sites, as well as other interesting information from the Web of interest to Microsoft stack developers. Links to information will be featured in this blog after we post a new podcast.
