GrapeCity Updates Dev Tools, Adds VS Code Extension

GrapeCity, known for its Visual Studio and .NET components and development tools, has issued a new software release, featuring new .NET controls and a Visual Studio Code extension for its JavaScript-based designer.

Wijmo Designer is a new entry in the Visual Studio Code Marketplace, providing a visual design experience for working with the company's Wijmo (JavaScript UI) controls in Angular projects.

Those controls include FlexGrid, FlexSheet, FlexChart, Input, Gauge, Nav and OLAP.

For .NET developers, the company's ComponentOne Studio Enterprise suite of tools features new controls, such as Dashboard Layout for WinForms and ASP.NET MVC and several others.

"Developers can build BI dashboards for .NET apps by embedding grids, charts, and gauges into the layout control," the company said. "Options include a variety of layouts and built in-features like drag and drop, maximize and restore, and save and load."

Other improvements were added to .NET components such as FlexChart and FinancialChart.

While Wijmo covers JavaScript and ComponentOne Studio Enterprise covers .NET, the company also announced enhancements to its mobile-focused ComponentOne Studio for Xamarin.

The company said the updated Xamarin offering continues its trend of gradually adding animations to all controls, creating new project templates to make starting projects simpler and enhancing its controls based on customer feedback.

More details on the Xamarin updates can be found here, while Wijmo 2018 v2 is detailed here and full information on ComponentOne Studio Enterprise updates can be found here.

The company said all its offerings can be put through their paces in a no-charge, 30-day trial.
