One Success at a Time: Chris Blickley

A closeup from the 2008 Redmond/MCPmag.com Salary Survey.

Working in IT, it's easy to sometimes feel under-appreciated, as public glory is not always ours to have. I keep myself motivated by focusing on the technology, the projects and ensuring that the results are the best they can possibly be.

While there's no direct replacement for that pat on the back we all deserve, knowing that a project couldn't have been more successful as the result of selecting the best technology, developing some really "cool" code or solving a problem in a unique way is sometimes all the motivation that I need.

Looking at each task as a potential learning opportunity and focusing on personal growth in tandem with the success of the task or project can be motivating in itself, and is what keeps me excited about going to work each day. One Success at a Time: Chris Blickley
